1. Platform role
MosaicEarth is a platform and technical intermediary through which users can process, import, host, position, preview, publish, discover, acquire, download and share geospatial assets. Unless MosaicEarth is identified as an asset's creator or licensor, the asset remains the responsibility of its creator.
2. Accounts and acceptable use
Users must provide accurate account information, protect access credentials and use the Platform lawfully. Automated abuse, attempts to bypass access controls, malicious uploads, infringement, harassment, interference with processing services and unauthorized access are prohibited.
3. Creator content and operational permission
A creator retains ownership of content they upload. The creator grants MosaicEarth a worldwide, non-exclusive permission, for as long as needed to operate the Platform and honour existing acquisitions, to host, store, copy, process, convert, validate, optimize, generate previews and tiles, display, stream, distribute and deliver downloads of that content. This operational permission allows MosaicEarth to provide processing, public discovery, private sharing, My Mosaics and acquisition services; it is separate from the license granted by a creator to an acquiring user.
A creator publishing an asset confirms that they own or control all rights needed to publish it and license it under the displayed MosaicEarth Standard License. Creators must not publish content subject to incompatible third-party restrictions and remain responsible for copyrights, database rights, trademarks, privacy, property and other applicable rights.
4. Public assets, price and acquisition
A public asset may be FREE (0 credits) or priced in credits. Both require the same Acquire action. A completed acquisition adds the asset to My Assets and records the applicable license and version. FREE changes only the economic price; it does not remove or alter the license. Credits are internal Platform units and are governed by the pricing and billing information shown at purchase.
5. Asset license
Downloadable public assets are supplied under the license identified on the asset page and frozen in the acquisition record. New publications use the MosaicEarth Standard License v1.0. Earlier acquisitions may remain governed by the materially different legacy terms shown at the time of acquisition. License rights do not transfer ownership.
6. Private assets and share links
Private assets are not listed publicly and cannot be acquired by third parties. A share link grants only technical viewing access to anyone who receives the link; it does not make the asset public, transfer ownership, permit download or grant a MosaicEarth Standard License. Users are responsible for recipients to whom they disclose a share link.
7. My Mosaics
My Mosaics lets users assemble assets they may legitimately access. Sharing a My Mosaic grants viewing access only. It does not transfer an asset, acquisition, download permission, ownership or license. A visitor who wants a public asset must acquire it through the normal asset flow.
8. Storage, processing and availability
Private projects and unpublished results are subject to the retention and Premium rules displayed in the Platform. Processing and conversion can take time and may fail because of source quality, capacity or third-party services. MosaicEarth may optimize web previews while preserving the original downloadable source when the applicable product flow states that it is retained.
9. Moderation and intellectual-property notices
MosaicEarth may investigate, unpublish, restrict or remove content that appears unlawful, unsafe, technically invalid or inconsistent with these Terms. Affected creators may be notified with a reason where appropriate. Rights holders may send a sufficiently detailed infringement notice to the corporate contact published on mosaicearth.app. Counter-notices and disputes may require evidence of rights.
10. Acquirer responsibility
Acquirers must evaluate an asset's accuracy, quality and suitability. Metadata is informational unless expressly guaranteed. Users remain responsible for lawful use, professional decisions and compliance with third-party rights and applicable law.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The Platform and assets are provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. MosaicEarth does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, particular processing results, accuracy or fitness for safety-critical, cadastral, engineering or surveying use. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Changes, suspension and termination
MosaicEarth may update these Terms prospectively and will identify the effective version. License rights already frozen in a completed acquisition are not changed retroactively. Accounts may be suspended for security, abuse or material breach. Operational retention of records may continue where necessary for security, accounting, legal compliance and proof of acquisitions.
13. Governing law
These Terms and the MosaicEarth Standard License are governed by the laws of Spain, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply in their country of residence. Courts and dispute procedures are determined by applicable law.
